Legal Assistant

We are looking for a full time Legal Assistant with 1 to 3 years of experience in family law to provide essential support to our legal team. 

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of family law procedures and processes, as well as exceptional organizational and communication skills. 

While certifications and coursework are valuable, we prioritize candidates who have proven experience in a fast-paced and stressful legal environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting lawyers with all aspects of family law cases, including drafting legal documents, correspondence, and court forms
  • Managing client communications, including phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries
  • Maintaining and organizing client files and documents in both physical and electronic formats
  • Scheduling appointments, court dates, and other important deadlines
  • Conducting legal research and gathering relevant case materials as needed
  • Liaising with court staff, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals on behalf of the firm
  • Providing administrative support to lawyers, such as billing, expense tracking, and file management

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in family law
  • Strong knowledge of family law procedures and terminology
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Experience working in a stressful legal environment and the ability to remain calm under pressure
